What is Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners snap over your upper or lower dental arch. The aligners place mild pressure on your teeth, jaw, and periodontal ligament, improving the balance and symmetry of your smile. 

What is the Invisalign treatment process?

The Cole Street Dental team regularly prescribes Invisalign treatment to kids, teens, and adults.

Your provider asks about your treatment goals, completes an oral exam, and takes 3D digital X-rays to check the alignment of your teeth and jaw. If your dentist determines you can benefit from treatment, they take digital scans of your mouth with an intraoral scanner.

Your dentist uploads your scans to a computer program and develops a custom orthodontic treatment plan, mapping the precise movements of your teeth and jaw. Then, they send that information to an Invisalign laboratory.

Invisalign lab techs use your dentist’s treatment plan to create a series of custom orthodontic aligners. The aligners are designed specifically for you and apply pressure exactly where it’s needed. 

During treatment, you wear your Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, brush, or floss. Every few weeks, you visit Cole Street Dental for checkups. At each visit, the team provides you with a new pair of Invisalign aligners.

When will I notice the results from the Invisalign treatment?

The time it takes to notice results from Invisalign depends on several factors, including the issues treated and your commitment to the care plan. Are Invisalign aligners painful?
